The main features affecting the quality of the monitor display are resolution, response time, refresh rate, viewing angle, contrast ratio, display uniformity, luminosity and resolution, with the first two being the most important.

The resolution describes the maximum number of pixels the monitor can display, at each of the two dimensions. This feature changes with the frame refresh frequency used. The response time describes how long the monitor takes to change its brightness from one level to another. It is measured in milliseconds (msec) and has a more significant effect on the action games.
